iTechLCD’s FOP1200HB-SAW-S, 12.1(12) Inch Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) Touch High Bright LED Open Frame Monitor is a 4:3 aspect ratio monitor that is sunlight readable. There are two model types for this to help distinguish between the touch interfaces. The first model is the FOP1200HB-SAW-S, which signifies an RS232 Serial touch interface and the second model is the FOP1200HB-SAW-U, which indicates a USB touch interface.

Why does the 12” high bright touch monitor offer two types of touch interfaces? The reason why there are two types of touch interfaces is so that the touch monitor can accommodate various types of applications that might require a serial or a USB touch interface.

How bright is the display? The 12” high bright monitor is rated at 1,600 nits brightness, but with a touch glass overlay, there is about a 20% reduction in brightness, so the brightness of the touch screen monitor is about 1,280 nits brightness.

The FOP1200HB-SAW-S, 12” high bright resistive touch monitor is designed to never change design, even if there is a panel revision. There is a wide variety of applications that this touch screen monitor can be used for and a few of those include any indoor environment with high ambient lighting or outdoor environment, such as digital signage displays, Kiosks, information booths, instrumentation control panels or interactive control devices.
