iTechLCD’s FOP6500-SAW-S/U is an industrial 6.5 inch surface acoustic wave (SAW) touch screen LED backlit open frame monitor that comes with two touch interface options, either an RS232 serial or USB touch interface option, to make integrating easier for any application.  iTechLCD understands that certain industrial applications might require a certain kind of touch interface to accommodate the needs of a control panel or keypad.

What reasons would a person use a saw touch screen monitor?  There is actually an abundance of applications that are catered to the public and in those types of applications, such as a photo booth or Kiosk, these locations that are open to the public will likely require a touch screen monitor that is durable and rugged enough to withstand the abrasions and tortures that the screen can be put through.  Surface Acoustic Wave Touch Screen Monitors are made of a durable substrate glass and is typically more vandalism resistant than most other types of touch glass. 

This 6 inch monitor is bright enough to be utilized greatly for both outdoor and indoor environments.  Since the brightness of this screen is rated at 800 nits brightness, it is almost considered a high bright, sunlight readable monitor without the added cost.  This small form factor touch screen monitor is a great space saver and can be easily designed into any application.  With this small and sleek design, integrators are given more leeway and room to work with when trying to design in the unit into an enclosure.  With the chassis of the unit remaining consistent throughout the life of the touch screen, there is no need for designers to worry about unit replacements, should one fail or if one needs to be replaced.

There is a wide variety of uses that the 6” LED SAW touch screen monitor can be used for.  A few applications or projects that the open frame touch screen can be used for are small form Kiosks, instrumentation panel displays, photo booths and quite possibly Automatic Teller Machines (ATM).  All units are created with a rugged metal chassis.
